himaya’s Legal Department serves as a support system for other programs; it works hand in hand with different members of the team, mainly himaya’s social workers, to ensure that legal procedures are followed and respected, and provides necessary trainings for the senior case worker. Documents such as work contracts and memorandums of understanding are also overseen by our legal team. They also intervene if a child might have a case in which he/she comes in conflict with the law, and are in constant contact with law enforcement agencies.
Our professionals are also a part of the Ministerial Committee fighting for the amendment of child protection laws in Lebanon, mainly law 422. They must conduct research on relevant child protection laws in Lebanon, including alternative care, emergency center laws etc.
